Resident in Counseling
Janet Boateng is a passionate counselor with 7 years of practice and experience counseling, working with women, men, young adults, families, couples, and adolescents. She attended Liberty University for her undergrad and graduate years and achieved her Bachelors in Psychology Counseling and Human Development and her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Counselor Ed and Fam Stud. During her graduate years at Liberty, she interned at TRBC Counseling Center, and provided counseling sessions and services to students at Liberty University and adults in the community. At that same time, she worked at Epic Health Partners providing in home and community counseling to adults in the community.
From there she began working in a wide range of positions with various community mental health agencies, and through the years has gained a great skill of understanding working with adults from different backgrounds since 2016. In working with adults, she’s provided treatment, support and guidance to issues of depression, anxiety, bipolar, childhood trauma, interpersonal relationship problems, conflict resolve skills, anger management, parenting skills, personal growth, marriage and family issues, coping skills development, self-esteem, grief, loss, trauma, PTSD, co-parenting, substance abuse, stress and life transitions.
Janet is most passionate about all thing’s relationships. From couple relationships to family relationships and individuals as well, who have their relationship cares, this is where her heart is when it comes to her work and her counseling. Since 2018, she’s provided relationship coaching and has engaged with individuals from diverse backgrounds through her relationship coaching. Additionally, she is a Qualified Mental Health Professional for adults (QMHP-A) and children (QMHP-C). Her most recent work consists of working with adolescents in their home and with their families. Through that, she’s been able to gain experience in seeing the causes of interpersonal conflict in child, parent and family dynamics. She’s provided treatment to adolescents in issues of depression, anxiety, ADHD, disruptive mood dysregulation, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), and social anxiety.
As a Licensed Resident in Counseling, her goal is to continue to grow in this profession and come alongside individuals to bring a sense of healing, understanding, empowerment and growth to their individual walks. What Janet loves most is seeing people thrive, blossom, overcome, and conquering their goals.
