Resident in Counseling
Crystal Robinson is a LPC Resident in Counseling who brings a compassionate and client-centered approach to her work with children, adolescents, families, clients dealing with or survived trauma, LGBTQ+ individuals, and couples. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida International University and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University, a program accredited by CACREP. Crystal’s academic training, combined with her practical experience, equips her to address a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns with depth and empathy.
During her graduate internship, Crystal worked extensively with children, adolescents, and adults facing challenges such as difficulty with focus, impulsivity, and staying organized (often seen in ADHD), patterns of anger, irritability, and defiance, especially toward authority figures (common in ODD), feelings of excessive worry, sadness, or hopelessness that interfere with daily life, stress or anxiety related to past traumatic events, and difficulty coping with major life changes or stress. This experience provided her with a deep understanding of how to tailor her therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of each client. Crystal is particularly skilled in helping clients build resilience and navigate difficult transitions, drawing upon a range of evidence-based modalities to support their growth.
Crystal’s therapeutic style is integrative, blending Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. She also employs Motivational Interviewing to help clients gain insight and motivation for change, while Family Systems Therapy is used to foster healthy communication and relationships within families. Her approach is grounded in the belief that each client has inherent strengths and the capacity to overcome challenges, and she aims to empower them to tap into their resilience.
Crystal is passionate about creating a safe, inclusive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, valued, and understood. Her dedication to fostering a warm and supportive atmosphere ensures that clients feel comfortable embarking on their journey toward healing and self-discovery. Crystal is committed to offering culturally sensitive care that respects the unique backgrounds and experiences of each individual she serves.
